The Learners Collaborative School conducted a Volunteers Training Workshop for more than 60 volunteers from Marsiling Progress Class on 31 Jan 2020 (Sunday).

Volunteer Training Workshop by TLCS for Marsiling Progress Class volunteers

Participants had the opportunity to understand themselves better as a volunteer teacher/mentor to primary and secondary children whether in an online or face-to-face setting. We also had a fruitful discussion about different ways to tackle common issues mentors face during lessons conducted for beneficiaries.

Tackling some common issues faced by mentors in the classroom.
A surprise “Pop Quiz” for the mentors to demonstrate the importance of wait time.

We would like to thank all participants for spending your Sunday morning with us and do hope that everyone has learnt something insightful and useful. In a gentle way, we can shake the world and make it a better place. All the best to all MPC mentors in your volunteering journey!

Thank u for your time for sharing this with us. I learnt a lot!!! 🙂 I found the Q&A portion the most useful because these are genuine concerns I have with regards to mentoring.
